turned from spending the holiday
vacation in Texas and Mexico. In
San Antonio they called on Dr. and
Mrs. G. R. Andre.
Mr. and Mrs. Orville Crawford
and Bobby Dean were guests at a
family dinner Sunday at the home
of the former's mother, Mrs. Ida
Crawford in Mechanicsville. Mr.
and Mrs. Rudolph McNee, Opal and
Roland, Mr. and Mrs. Grocer Me-
Nee, Miss Maggie and Harry McNee,
all of Mechanicsville, completed the
group.
Mrs. Harlan Briggs is in Indian-
apolis, Ind this week with other
leaders of the American Legion and
Auxiliary, attending national meet-
ings. The meeting on Wednesday
and Thursday was Area D. Rehabil-
itation Conference, and Friday and
Saturday will be Area D. Child
Welfare Conference. This area in-
cludes twelve middlewest states.
Mrs. L. S. Wright came from
Davenport Friday to spend some
time with her mother, Mrs. B. E.
Ringer, who was brought home on
Saturday from St. Lukes hospital,
where she had been a patient for
observation and treatment for two
weeks. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bick-
nese of Shell Rock, and Mr. and
Mrs. J. B. Ringer, Jerry and Larry
of Mount Vernon, spent Sunday in
the Ringer home.

came last Thursday to stay for an
indefinite time with her brother-in-

in Moline, Ill on Monday and
Tuesday attending a school of in-
struction sponsored by the John
Deere company.
