McDon- aid, who had been on the train be- fore it reached Beverly, got off further back on the train. He saw the other man get off the train but did not see the Forty-Niner hit him. Ruddy Jorgenson, section fore- man, with Sam Lieb and Richard C. Anderson, were coming up the grade back of the freight train on their gas car and saw the Forty- niner stop. They brought the body, which was badly mangled, to the :Mount Vernon depot and John Klimo notified tbe coroner. The ,body was taken to the Neff Funeral Home. The train stopped for 25 minute~ while the usual examination wae made. The average running speed of the train at that point is said to be around 70 miles an hour. The victim was fingerprinted by Larry Condon on Wednesday morn- ing and an effort will be made to identify him by his finger prints. He is believed to have .been from 40 to 50 years old and weighed from 160 to 170 pounds, being fair- IF stout. He was rather well dress- ed.
