of a half scholarship, which means
that Bettie will receive a semester's
voice training at half the usual cost.
We take this opportunity to con-
gratulate Bettie on this achievement

day night in the Joe Boyd home and
elected officers for the coming year.

The "Ways and Means" society of
the Presbyterian church met in
the church parlors, Friday alter-
noon, with Mesdames Walter Ham-
mer, Will Robinson, Howard Car-
penter, Rob Smith and Ben Schroe-
der as hostesses. In the absence
of the president, Mrs. Frank Wilson,
the vice president, Mrs. Stookey,
presided. During the business meet-
ing the society voted to pay $200
on the pastor's .salary, when one is
