The Board of Supervisors met pur-
suant to adjournment, all members
being present.
On motion by Supervisor Petty,
seconded by Supcrwsor Beeson, the
following resolution was adopted, all
members voting “Aye” thereon:

under a tax deed to Lot Nine (9),
irregular Survey, SW‘A SE34 Sec-
tion 3, Township 80', Range 6. Cog-
g'on, Iowa, and Henry E. Ashby has
made an offer to purchase said pro-
pcrty and pay therefor the sum of
$40.00 cash, and
W'chltliAS, the tax levying and
,tax certifying bodies having an in-
terest in the general taxes against
said property have given written ap-
proval for said proposed sale, and it
is the judgment of this Board that
it is for the best interests of the
county to accept said offer:
NOW. THEREFORE, Be It Re-
solved by the Board of Supervisors
of Linn County, Iowa, that the offer
of the said Henry E. Ashby to pur-
chase the above described property
from Linn County, Iowa, for the sum
of $40.00, be and'is hereby accepted,
and the Chairman of this Board is
authorized and directed to execute
and acknowledge on behalf of said
county a deed of conveyance of said
property to the said Henry E. Ash—

INTERESTING PROGRAM
Division No. 3 of the Woman’s So-
ciety of Christian Service under
the leadership of Mrs. Harold Por-
ter presented a most interesting
program in the Methodist church
on Friday evening. “World Day of
Prayer,” was observed during the
first part of the program in charge
of Rev. J. B. Eyestone; vacal num-
bers, “The Mystic Number," and
“All Through The Night," were by
Iris O‘Connor with Mrs. Floyd
Kitchen as her piano accompanist;
reading, “Indian Children," by June
Harford.
A group of guitar numbers were
given by Delores Lnenicka; Mrs.
Clinton Berry conducted an educa-
tional quiz; reading, “The Flag
Goes By,” was given by Caroline
Berry; two songs, “Be Glad You're
An American,” and “God Bless
America,” by the audience, with
lorehestra accompaniment. The an-

Services on Sunday will begin in
the Methodist church with the
church school at 10 am. and wor-
ship at 11 o'clock. All are welcome.
Compassion Sunday was observ-
ed during the services on last Sun-
day and the local church went over

program to be given on Friday eve-

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Butterfleld
visited Perry Knapp on Sunday at
the University hospital in Iowa
City. The condition of Mr. Knapp
