Renew Wiley's
Contract For Year
ELY --- College Community board
Tuesday night renewed the contract
of Supt. S. W. Wiley for one year
and that of Howard Strong, prin-
' cipal at Prairie High, and all teach-
ers' contracts for another year.
The board raised the salary of
plant engineers to $4,000 and that
of custodian to $3,400.
The board's action came at the
end of a session attended by about
50 residents of the district. A group
of eight discussed with the board
the possibility of not renewing the
superintendent's contract• However,
they did not present a petition to
be heard, only a letter stating that l
they were "not satisfied with con-
ditions" at the school.
Another group including teachers
of the four schools praised Supt.
Wiley. The Citizens Advisory Com-
mittee recommended that the board
give a vote of confidence to Supt.
S. W. Wiley and that his contract
be renewed.
