Bob Keck, well known to sports
fans for his football and basketball
talent, has joined the baseball squad
this year and is expected to bolster
the pitching staff. There are also a
!number of good sophomore pros-
'pacts: Frain and Chaplin, p; Perry,
c; P. Smith lb; Hoeft, 3b; Taylor
and Kempfer, cf.
This is hard to believe, but the
Rams, with one win in three years,
may have the edge Tuesday, because
this is the first spring in 41 years
that the Pioneers have fielded a
baseball team. Coach Pfitsch how-
ever set up his schedule with a
i non-conference opener against Wart-
~burg April 9 and games with Knox
!and Monmouth preceding the one
with the Rams. The Bryant men
will, on the other hand, be having
their first game. The Grinnell squad
numbers around 20 fellows of vary-
19c
ing degrees of experience.
