Representatives of choruses from
Johnson, Benton, Scott, Cedar. Linn,
and Jones counties met at. Tipton.

for the District Music Tournament
at Cornell College May 10.
The women planned the following
program: 10:00 registration: 10:15
drawing for order of appearance:
10:30 singing and judging of the
Johnson, Benton, Scott, Cedar. and
Jones county choruses. Two of these
choruses will be selected to appear
at the Iowa State Fair. Following
this the Linn County chorus who re-
presented the 6th district at the
Iowa State Fair in 1940 will appear
as a guest chorus. 12:00 luncheon at
the Mt. Vernon Methodist Church;
1:15 assembly, introduction of the
new district chairman, judges de-
cisions and discussion by Prof. Har-
old Baltz. director of the Conser-
vatory of Music at Cornell College;
2:00 singing of mass choruses.
I The choruses will be rated upon
organization whieh includes, num-
ber of appearances made by the
ehorus, nnmber of members in the
chorus, and the number of town-
ships represented in the chorus that
make it a county wide project, as
well as quality of singing. Those as-
