to adjournment, all members being pre-

ed by Supervisor Petty, the minutes of
the meeting ol April 8, 1941 were approv-i
ed as read. All members voting "Aye"
thereon.
On motion by Supervisor Beeson, seeond-
ed by Supervisor Petty. the following

RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF LINN COUNTY. IOWA:
That It is ordered notice to depart, as
provided by Chapter 189.4 of the 1939
Code of Iowa. to prevent the acquiring of
a settlement in this county, be served upon
each of the following named persons, to-

Two Chekhov Plays Will Be
Presented On Saturday
Two plays by Anton Chekhov
will be presented in the IAttle Thea-
tre Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
as the weekly Cornell free matinee.
They are "The Boor," and "The
Marriage Proposal," both farce
comedies which will be enjoyed by
grade school pupils as well as
adults.
"The Boor," under the direction
of Bill Dodds, will be played by
LoyaU Pearson, 'Sally Hubbard and
Dean Mercy. Henry Dihlmann will
direct the second play, with John
Ardapple, Helen Danforth and
John Huebner in the acting roles.
Chekhov is gradually taking his
place among the classic dramatics.
He is a Russian writer, having
done many stories and novels which
are today widely recognized in Rus-
sia. His" art has been described
as Psychological. His characters
are common people of today. Prin-
cipal thing in his plays is not action
but emotion.

Mrs. Lester Meyers enjoyed a
visit from her mother from Oxford

sons, Miss Corrine, who was home
from Davenport for the week end,
and Mr. and Mrs, Gorman Robin-
son, were guests at 1:00 dinner on
Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Kline.
Elmer Overflelds were down on
Saturday from Cedar Rapids, for
a week end visit.
Mrs. Minnie Spencer has recover-
ed from her operation sufficiently
to be taken to the home of her
sister, Mrs. Beasmore in Lisbon.
Her many friends are hoping for
continued news of recovery.
Arlene Cook has been ill with
mumps.
Mr. and Mrs. Claire Scott and
John D. were Sunday evening
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Francis
Crock.

Barberry Eradication Survey
A crew of seventeen men under
the direction of Lauren I)ean of the
U.S.D.A. last week began ~t survey
of Linn county for the purpose of
eradicating common barberry
bushes which may have appeared
since the last survey in 1932.
Perseus knowing the location of
common barberry plants will assist
Mr. Dea~ and his men greatly by
notifying the Farm Bureau office.
