THE LISBON VOAG CLASS is checking the depth of terraces which are under construction
at the Denny Neal farm, a mile west of Mt. Vernon. The terrace shown has been built up about
12 inches. Additional round trips of the plow were expected to raise the terrace to around 15
to 20 inches.

Celia Unash of Geneseo, Ill., Mrs.
Lottie Messenger, Newton, and Mrs.
Effie Heinsius of Solon; four
brothers, David, Iowa City and
John, George and Cyril, Solon.
Three brothers predeceased him.
MRS. DVORSKY RITES
HELD MONDAY
Mrs. Joseph P. Dvorsky, 71, Iowa
City, died at her home Thursday,
May 2, after a short illness. The for-
mer Mary B. Serovy, she was born
to Mary and Frank Serovy. She
was married to Joseph P. Dvorsky
at Solon in October, 1907, and the
couple settled on a farm in New-
port township.
Survivors include her husband; a
daughter, Mrs. John Novotny, Iowa
City; two sons, Adolph and Will-
ard, both of Solon; 10 grandchil-
dren; a sister, Mrs. Fred Shima, of
Loveland, Colo.; and two brothers,
Frank of Solon and Edward of Iowa
City.
The funeral was held Monday,
May 6, at 9 a.m. at St. Wencestaus
church in Iowa City. Burial was in
St. Mary's cemetery at Newport.
