Tourney ML Vernon eighth graders placed third with 20 1/2 points and the seventh graders with 25 1/2 points were sixth in the Eastern Iowa Hawkeye confer- ence junior high school track meet last Thursday at West Lib- erty. Steve Brokel won the eighth grade shot put with a toss of 42 ft. 2 I/2 in. Brokel also tied for second in the 50-yard dash. Brian Litts in pole vault aud Greg Morrissey in 440-yard dash placed third. Dennis Murphy and Dennis Studt tied for fifth in the 220 and Murphy fifth in high jump.
