corsage. After a short wedding ,trip,
the couple will make their home in
Cedar Rapids.
The C. W. Carbees returned on
Tuesday from a three weeks' stay at
Nestor Falls, Canada.

Barbara Clark entertained ten
members of the Putnam Prides' 4-H
club at her home Saturday. The
girls attending Rally Day reported
on the activities. Plans were made
for a bake sale in the near future.
Susan Stockman and Linda Zbanek
reported on the county barn dance.
Mrs. Viola Zahradnik, leader, and
Jean Smith, delegate, will attend'
the 4-H state convention at Ames
the last of June. The next meeting
will be held at Mrs. Zahradniks
with a morning workshop for com-
pleting unfinished projects. In the
afternoon the girls will visit a store
in Cedar Rapids to learn about
home furnishings.
Joann Moses gave a talk on the
storage of blankets. Jean Smith

Special Meeting, May 13. 1957
The council met with all members except
Kaliban present and Mayor Plattenberger
presiding. The meeting was called to con-
aider proposed ordinances for nuisances
and water, and other matters. Moved by
Williams and seconded by Sutliff that the
ap~plication of Wm. J. Kristan for class B
beer cigaret and card licenses be allowed.
Carried. At the same time the above lic-
enses were granted the license of Geraldine
was canceled. Nuisance ordinance wa sread
and passed on its first reading by attorney
Martin. Louis Albaugh was named by Mi-
nert to read water meters for $10.00 per
quarter. Attorney Martin read the propos-
ed water ordinance and it was passed on
its first reading. The meetin~ adjourned.
