Linn Farmers Draw on Ever Normal Granary For Corn Needs Linn County farmers have tapped the ever normal granary corn sup- ply for a total of 71,339 bushels, R. B. Booth, corn loan supervisor, reported Saturday. Of this total 38,217 bushels were 1938 and 1939 corn resealed on the farms last fall, ]4,070 ,bushels were I 940 corn seal- ed on the farms, 15,222 bushels were withdrawn from Commodity Credit Corporation corn stored in steel bins in the county and 5,830 bushels were C.C.C. corn stored in licensed w~rehouses in the county, according to Mr. Booth. There still is under seal on farms 750,971 bushels of 1938 and 1939 corn and 134,582 bushels of 1940 corn. Corn held by the C,C.C. in steel bins in the county totals 391,- 776 bushels. Total of corn reserves in the county scaled on farms and stored in steel bins is 1,277,329 bushels, slightly it] excess of one- fourth of the 10 year average an- nual crop produced in ].inn County. At this time 1938 and 1939 corn resealed last fall for one year may be released from seal by payment of a little under 60c per .bushel, while corn resealed for two years requires the payment of about 66c per bushel. The difference in cost rep- resents the additional storage pay- ment advanced by the C.C.C. when the corn was resealed. 1940 corn may be released by payment of 61c per busbel plus accrued inter- est since date of the note.
