children Carey, Pat, Tom and
Shawn of Pacific Palisades, Calif•,
came Friday evening to visit Mrs.
Cox's mother, Mrs. Marjorie Her-
ring. They were accompanied by
Iohn Lawfler, Mr. Cox's nephew,
and a Hungarian refugee, Kathleen
Horvath, who makes her home with
them. Mr. Cox, who operates an
auto parts store in Santa Monica,
returned home by plane and will
return to Mr. Vernon about the
middle of July. At that time the
Coxes will go on to visit Mrs. Cox's
brothers and their families, T/Sgt.
and Mrs. Harold Herring at Paris
Island, S.C., and the Donald Her-
rings at Decatur, Ga.
Mrs• Cox and her family and Mrs.
Herring went to Peoria, Ill., the
middle of this week for a visit with
Mrs. Herring's other daughter, Mrs.
James Coogan, and her family.

Of the 1956 corn, 881,766 bushels
qualified for the $1.47 a bushel
rate for corn produced in compli-
ance with the production adjust-
ment program. The remainder of
the corn took the "non-compliance"
rate of $1.22 a bushel.
The program had 897 loans for
1,440,239.16 bushels and 169 pur-
chase agreements on 332,465 bushels.
