Pasture cannot be over-emphasized as an important
factor in a successful hog program. Feeding tests have
shown that use of good pasture will save grain and sup-
plement. Pigs get sunshine, a valuable source of Vitamin
D when on pasture.
Pasture crops, a source of certain minerals and vita-
mins, are most palatable when young and tender and
thus help you save feed. However, grain and pasture
alone will not do the most economical job.
Purina Hog Chows should be fed on good, clean,
parasite-free pasture whenever available. Drylot feeding
always requires more feed. Get the most from your grain
and Purina Supplements through the use of good, clean
pasture.
Records from the Purina Farm prove that 17 hogs
per sow per year are practical if sound management, son-
itatian, breeding and fee~ng i$ practiced. Put the Purina
Hog Program to work for you on your own farm.
