THE clutch on a John Deere General
Purpose Tractor is in the belt pulley
--and is instantly accessible. It can
be adjusted in 5 minutes or less,
simply by removing the cover plate
and tightening three nuts. The en-
tire job of relining can be done in 15
minutes, at a total cost of about
three dollars. The John Deere clutch
is the hand-operated, dry-plate type,
and it picks up the load gradually
and smoothly. You can operate the
clutch when standing on the ground.
This same accessibility and ease of
adjustment on the John Deere Trac-
